Steve Young is a former American football quarterback who played in the National Football League (NFL) for 15 seasons. He is considered one of the greatest quarterbacks in NFL history and was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2005.
Young won three Super Bowls during his career, all with the San Francisco 49ers. His first Super Bowl win was in 1989 when the 49ers defeated the Cincinnati Bengals in Super Bowl XXIII. Young did not start this game, but he came in for injured quarterback Joe Montana in the second half and led the team to a game-winning touchdown drive with just over three minutes remaining.
Young's second Super Bowl win came in 1990 when the 49ers defeated the Denver Broncos in Super Bowl XXIV. Young was the starting quarterback for this game and played a tremendous game, throwing for a Super Bowl-record six touchdown passes in a blowout win.
Young's final Super Bowl win came in 1995 when the 49ers defeated the San Diego Chargers in Super Bowl XXIX. This was another stellar performance by Young, who threw for a Super Bowl-record six touchdown passes and was named the game's Most Valuable Player (MVP).
